DGU Glass
(Sound Proof Glass)
DGU (Double Glazed Unit), also known as an Insulated Glass Unit (IGU), is a type of energy-efficient window glass made by sealing two glass panes together with a gap in between (usually filled with air or gas). This structure improves thermal insulation, sound reduction, and energy efficiency.
Key Features
- Thermal Insulation – Reduces heat transfer between indoor/outdoor environments
- Sound Insulation – Helps block outside noise (especially with thicker glass)
- Condensation Control – Keeps interior surface warmer, reducing condensation
- Energy Savings – Helps lower heating/cooling bills by improving efficiency
- Customization – Available in combinations like toughened + laminated, or tinted + low-E
Common Applications
- Residential windows and doors
- Curtain walls and facades
- Glass partitions with sound control
- Skylights and overhead glazing
- Hotels, hospitals, and energy-efficient buildings
